One on one time with a trained music professional can give students confidence, refine skills, and show them whatβs possible on their instruments. We are fortunate that many teachers choose to teach at Stone each week, but excellent teachers are available in our larger community as well. Contact your band director if you have any questions.
Private lessons will be available at Stone Middle School on Mondays and Wednesdays this school year. We have coordinated with approved instructors to offer this convenience to our families. For a list of available instructors and to secure a time slot, please contact Mr. Marks.
Please be advised that while Mr. Marks facilitates the scheduling to ensure room availability, all billing and agreements are the sole responsibility of the family and the instructor.

The private lessons list is not exhaustive, and it is meant to suggest local teachers with whom parents may contract privately to teach their student. Stone Middle School Band claims no responsibility for any events that take place within such private contracts.
AFTER-SCHOOL LESSON POLICY - FCPS REGULATION 4705.3
You have arranged for tutoring, private lessons, or other supplementary educational services with a private contractor in a FCPS facility. FCPS appreciates the value of these extracurricular programs and discounts its rental fees to make them available outside normal school hours. Nevertheless, FCPS does not review, endorse, supervise, or guarantee these privately provided services. FCPS students do not need to take these programs in order to succeed in the regular FCPS curriculum.
Your instructor is not providing you educational services as an FCPS employee, even if he or she is an FCPS teacher during the regular school day. Instead, your instructor is an independent contractor who provides supplementary services directly to the public. This means that instructional, financial, safety, and all other issues relating to your lessons are entirely between you and the instructor. Any claims or concerns should be raised with your instructor rather than with FCPS.
