Overview |
| The Ormond Stone Middle School Band Program
is designed to develop ensemble skills to parallel the sequence of
proficiency levels as listed in the Fairfax County Public School's
Program of Studies. Performance opportunities will be provided.
Our program will emphasize a respect for music as an art form that
imparts aesthetic values, which enrich life. |

Objectives |
-
Demonstrate an
appropriate understanding of intonation, balance, blend, and
technique within the ranges achievable by each performing group,
while working for continuous development of proficiency levels.

Perform a variety of
literature within the capabilities of each group, which will
motivate students to improve.

Demonstrate the behavior
expected of all participating members.

Develop proper instrument
care skills.

Develop an understanding
of each student's responsibility to the group.

Develop in each student
the character traits necessary for success, such as discipline,
cooperation, and persistence.
-
Provide a closer
relationship and smoother transition from the elementary school
band, through the middle school band, and on to the high school band
program.
